Metalica. Wherever I may roam.

...and the road becomes my bride
I have stripped of all but pride
So in her I do confide
And she keeps me satisfied
Gives me all I need

...and with dust in throat I crave
Only knowledge will I save
To the game you stay a slave
Rover wanderer
Nomad vagabond
Call me what you will

But Ill take my time anywhere
Free to speak my mind anywhere
And Ill redefine anywhere
Anywhere I may roam
Where I lay my head is home

...and the earth becomes my throne
I adapt to the unknown
Under wandering stars Ive grown
By myself but not alone
I ask no one

...and my ties are severed clean
The less I have the more I gain
Off the beaten path I reign
Rover wanderer
Nomad vagabond
Call me what you will

But Ill take my time anywhere
Im free to speak my mind anywhere
And Ill never mind anywhere
Anywhere I may roam
Where I lay my head is home

But Ill take my time anywhere
Free to speak my mind
And Ill take my find anywhere
Anywhere I may roam
Where I lay my head is home

Carved upon my stone
My body lie, but still I roam
Wherever I may roam

If you look at your reflection in the bottom of a well,
What you see is only on the surface.
When you try to see the meaning, hidden underneath,
The measure of the depth can be deceiving.
The bottom has a rocky reputation
You can feel it in the distance the deeper down you stare.
From up above it's hard to see but you knowwhen you're there.
On the bottom words are shallow.
On the surface talk is cheap.
You can only judge the distance by the company you keep
In the eyes of the CONFESSOR.

In the eyes of the Confessor,
There's no place you can hide.
You can't hide from the eyes (of the Confessor)
Don't you even try.
In the eyes of the Confessor
You can't tell a lie,
You cannot tell a lie (to the Confessor)
Strip you down to size,
Naked as the day that you were born,
Naked as the day that you were born.
(Tremendous guitar work)
Take all the trauma, drama, comments,
The guilt and doubt and shame
The what if's and if only's
The shackles and the chains
The violence and aggresion,
The pettiness and scorn,
The jealousy and hatred,
The tempest and discord,
AND GIVE IT UP!

LED ZEPPELIN LYRICS

"Good Times Bad Times"

In the days of my youth, I was told what it means to be a man,
Now I've reached that age, I've tried to do all those things the best I can.
No matter how I try, I find my way into the same old jam.

[Chorus]
Good Times, Bad Times, you know I had my share;
When my woman left home for a brown eyed man,
Well, I still don't seem to care.

Sixteen, I fell in love with a girl as sweet as could be,
Only took a couple of days 'til she was rid of me.
She swore that she would be all mine and love me till the end,
But when I whispered in her ear, I lost another friend, oooh.

[Chorus]

I know what it means to be alone, I sure do wish I was at home.
I don't care what the neighbors say, I'm gonna love you each and every day.
You can feel the beat within my heart.
Realize, sweet babe, we ain't ever gonna part.

There's a race of men that don't fit in

a race that can't stay still.

They break the hearts

of kith and kin...

and roam the world at will.

I close my eyes ,
only for a moment and the moments gone.

All my dreams pass before my eyes ; a curiosity.

Dust in the wind.
All they are is dust in the wind.

Same old song.
Just a drop of water in an endless sea.
All we do crumbles to the ground though we refuse to see.

Don't hang on.
Nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky.
It slopes away and all your money would not another minute buy.

Dust in the wind.
All we are is dust in the wind.

This is the springtime of my loving - the second season I am to know
You are the sunlight in my growing - so little warmth I've felt before.
It isn't hard to feel me glowing - I watched the fire that grew so low.

It is the summer of my smiles - flee from me Keepers of the Gloom.
Speak to me only with your eyes. It is to you I give this tune.
Ain't so hard to recognize - These things are clear to all from
time to time.

Talk Talk - I've felt the coldness of my winter
I never thought it would ever go. I cursed the gloom that set upon us...
But I know that I love you so

These are the seasons of emotion and like the winds they rise and fall
This is the wonder of devotion - I see the torch we all must hold.
This is the mystery of the quotient - Upon us all a little rain must fall.

Come 'n listen to a story about a man named Jed
A poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed,
Then one day he was shootin' at some food,
And up through the ground came a bubblin crude.

Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea. :D

Well the first thing you know ol Jed's a millionaire,
Kinfolk said "Jed move away from there"
Said "Californy is the place you ought to be"
So they loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly.

Hills, that is. Swimmin' pools, movie stars.

Well now its time to say goodbye to Jed and all his kin.
And they would like to thank you folks fer kindly droppin' in.
You're all invited back again to this locality
To have a heapin' helpin' of their hospitality

Hillybilly that is. Set a spell, Take your shoes off.

Y'all come back now, y'hear?

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!

AVOIDING CATATONIC SURRENDER- by Tim Barry (http://www.myspace.com/timbarryrva)

it's lonely in the Garden State, the place of no left turns
in a Motel 6 in East Brunswick smoking 'till my lungs burn
i put ice in the trash can to cool down my beer
breathe in the perfume in the room of the person last here
i can't stand this singing, i can't stand this song
i can't stand being home, lord i can't stand being gone
my ears ring when it's quiet and i ain't heard a thing all day
and I'd call if I could but right now i ain't got nothing to say
and so on, and so long
i can't keep singing these songs for too long, and so on
the first night we met we fucked on the couch in my living room
and spent the morning pretending it didn't happen searching for your lost phone
which i found between the cushions, below a pile of our clothes, you said you couldn't leave with out it, I should have kept my eyes closed
i left for work directly then for a 15 hour day made just over a hundred bucks none of which I ever saved
didn't hear too much from you before and never heard from you again
cause as soon as this shit starts boy it's bound to end
and so on, and so long
i can't keep singing these songs for too long, and so on
i throw empty beer cans at the tv when I'm watching the news
i hate republicans I hate democrats I hate liberals too
I think pacifists are weak and violence is wrong but I go limp for police and i fight when it's called for
the truth is i don't know or care with who or where I fit in at all
but I keep on living simple RIDING FAST AND LIVING SLOW
i write standard boring songs with boring standard chords just like the best and the worst - verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-repeat and so on...

Today,
we don't know who we are.
Ashamed,
hiding behind the scars.
Too many times,
we let the things we feel,
get in the way of letting us
heal the wounds,
that open in the dark.

Did you ever feel
sunlight on your face?
Did you ever taste clouds?
Did you ever touch space?
Did you ever feel
sunlight on your face?
Did you ever truly live?

So walk, in time
to lifes refrain.
Relax, dont do it to yourself again.
Decaying yourself with
all the love you wont give.
Killing yourself about the way
you dont live now.
Cause you're not
gonna live forever.

Did you ever feel
sunlight on your face?
Did you ever taste clouds?
Did you ever touch space?
Did you ever feel
sunlight on your face?
Did you ever truly live?

Did you ever feel
sunlight on your face?
Did you ever breathe hope?
Did you ever
dance with grace?
Did you ever feel
sunlight on your face?
Did you ever truly live?

In My Liverpool Home

In My Liverpool Home

cho: In my Liverpool Home, In my Liverpool Home
We speak with an accent exceedingly rare,
Meet under a statue exceedingly bare,
And if you want a Cathedral, we've got one to spare
In my Liverpool Home.....

I was born in Liverpool, down by the docks
Me Religion was catholic, occupation Hard-Knocks
At stealing from lorries I was adept,
And under old overcoats each night I slept

Way back in the forties the world it went mad
Mister Hitler threw at us everything that he had
When the smoke and dust had all cleared from the air
"Thank God" said the ald fella, "The Pier Head's still there"

When I grew up I met Bridget McGann
she said "Your not much but I'm needin a man"
"Well a want sixteen kids and an 'ouse out in Speke"
Well the spirit was willing but the flesh it was weak

There's a place in dis city were the nits de wear clogs
They've six millon kids and ten million dogs
De play tick with hatchets and I'll tell you no lie
a man's a coward if he has more than one eye.

The Green and the Orange have battled for years
They've given us some laughs and they've given us some tears
But Scousers don't want a heavenly reward
They just want the Green Card to get into Fords

The Dockers Umbrella has bitten the dust
You might buy a Meccanno, no charge for the rust
Scottie Road is a legend now past away
But you can go down to Yateses and drink all the day.

Made popular by the Spinners. This song is supposed to have
around 300 VERSES!

Ascension

Know that I live on,
vibrating to a different measure
behind a thin veil you cannot see through.
You will not see me.
so you must have faith.
I wait for the time when we can soar together again,
both aware of each other,
Until then, live your life to its fullest.
And when you need me,
Just whisper my name in your heart,
... I will be there.

Balls Balls No Balls At All.
She Married A Man Who Had No Balls At All

She Longed For Romance, Her Heart Did It Pull
But Up Turned A Man Who Had No Balls At All
He Looked Right He Seemed Right, To Hell With It All
Her Man Had A Secret, He Had No Balls At All

Balls Balls No Balls At All.
She Married A Man Who Had No Balls At All

He Was Charming And Dashing, Handsome And Tall
How Could She Know He Had No Balls At All,
She Found Him So Clever And Wonderfully Cool
He Had All But His Balls, He Had No Balls At All

Balls Balls No Balls At All.
She Married A Man Who Had No Balls At All

They Romanced Through Winter, Spring, Summer And Fall
She Fell In Love With The Man With No Balls At All
She Had A Wedding In Mind, She Was Starting To Fall
For The Charms Of The Man With No Balls At All

Balls Balls No Balls At All.
She Married A Man Who Had No Balls At All

They Stood At The Altar, She Was Pretty And Small
She Held The Hand Of The Man Who Had No Balls At All
The Wedding Was Lovely, And Up To Bed Did They Crawl,
Now She Was Married To A Man With No Balls At All

Balls Balls No Balls At All.
She Married A Man Who Had No Balls At All

They Undressed In Moonlight, The Moon Was Quite Full
It Was More Than Her Hand Was, He Had No Balls At All
She Recoiled In Horror Then She Started To Bawl
"Where Are Your Balls Man, You Have No Balls At All"

Balls Balls No Balls At All.
She Married A Man Who Had No Balls At All

She Was Stunned Into Silence And Sat On A Stool
It Was Painfully Obvious, There Were No Balls At All
He Had A Small Todger, The Tiniest Tool
But He Never Had Balls, No Balls At All

Balls Balls No Balls At All.
She Married A Man Who Had No Balls At All

The Following Morning Her Mum Got The Call
"Mum, This Fucker I've Married Has No Balls At All
It's Dreadful, I'm Finished, I Feel Such A Fool
What Good Is A Man Who Has No Balls At All"

Balls Balls No Balls At All.
She Married A Man Who Had No Balls At All

Her Mum Said, "Come My Dear Daughter and Don't Be A Sap
I Had The Same Problem When I Married Your Pap
There's Many A Man That Will Come To The Call
To The Wife Of A Man With No Balls At All."

Balls Balls No Balls At All.
She Married A Man Who Had No Balls At All...

'Twas in another lifetime, one of toil and blood
When blackness was a virtue and the road was full of mud
I came in from the wilderness, a creature void of form.
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

And if I pass this way again, you can rest assured
I'll always do my best for her, on that I give my word
In a world of steel-eyed death, and men who are fighting to be warm.
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

Not a word was spoke between us, there was little risk involved
Everything up to that point had been left unresolved.
Try imagining a place where it's always safe and warm.
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

I was burned out from exhaustion, buried in the hail,
Poisoned in the bushes an' blown out on the trail,
Hunted like a crocodile, ravaged in the corn.
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

Suddenly I turned around and she was standin' there
With silver bracelets on her wrists and flowers in her hair.
She walked up to me so gracefully and took my crown of thorns.
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

Now there's a wall between us, somethin' there's been lost
I took too much for granted, got my signals crossed.
Just to think that it all began on a long-forgotten morn.
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

Well, the deputy walks on hard nails and the preacher rides a mount
But nothing really matters much, it's doom alone that counts
And the one-eyed undertaker, he blows a futile horn.
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

I've heard newborn babies wailin' like a mournin' dove
And old men with broken teeth stranded without love.
Do I understand your question, man, is it hopeless and forlorn?
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

In a little hilltop village, they gambled for my clothes
I bargained for salvation an' they gave me a lethal dose.
I offered up my innocence and got repaid with scorn.
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

Well, I'm livin' in a foreign country but I'm bound to cross the line
Beauty walks a razor's edge, someday I'll make it mine.
If I could only turn back the clock to when God and her were born.
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

well, second attempt then. Just a song i wheally wheally like.

Who lived at the top end of our street

Was a Mafeking stereotype, ageing.

Came, face pulped scarlet with kept rage,

For air past our gate.

Barked at his dog knout and whipcrack

And cowerings of India: five or six wars

Stiffened in his reddened neck;

Brow bull-down for the stroke.

************************************

Wife dead, daughters gone, lived on

Honouring his own caricature.

Shot through the heart with whisky wore

The lurch like ancient courage, would not go down

While posterity?s trash stood, held

His habits like a last stand, even

As if he had Victoria rolled

In a Union Jack in that stronghold.

************************************

And what if his sort should vanish?

The rabble starlings roar upon

Trafalgar. The man-eating British lion

By a pimply age brought down.

Here?s his head mounted, though only in rhymes,

Beside the head of the last English

Wolf (those starved gloomy times!)

And the last sturgeon of Thames.

I love the darkest hours of my being.
My mind deepens into them
There I can find, as in old letters,
the days of my life, already lived,
and held like a legend, and understood.

Then the knowing comes: I can open
to another life that's wide and timeless.

So I am sometimes like a tree
rustling over a gravesite
and making real the dream
of the one its living roots
embrace:

a dream once lost
among sorrows and songs.
