Do you think the forums are hurting the views of the videos? If so do you think it will pass over time?

Only a tiny TINY percentage of members, let alone guests, come to the forums so far. I wouldn't worry about it. If we thought it were a possibility the forums probably wouldn't have happened :)

:o I don't think it's any problem, and like Meno said, if it is it will pass.
For me, it's another story. Now there's a BLOG, too! I still watch the vids, comment on the vids, I even made a vid, I chat, I BLOG, I Forum, I just don't "life"! Well, you know what I mean...
I wouldn't trade the Forum for any other, because it allows meaningful conversation, and does so better than the old threads. And there are pretty colors to express youorself, too!
Long live LiveLeak! So goes one of my New Years goals, "to read more and internet less"! I'm going to go have some hot chocolate! :o

i think that over the whole site that it will still be the old school members that will end up in the new yoursay threads , but i have noticed a slowdown in front page comments, but saying that iv also noticed a bunch of new members too, iv slacked of on front page for now with the forum here. (ps..for "the" mod out there, it dont help with you whoever it is taking my comments off simply coz you "personaly" dont like them, my comments are harmless and dont come anywhere near infringing the rules here...hate to say it but it dont look too professional on your part) thank you and goodnight

Front page comments aren't often made by the people we see posting here, remember the "old school" members only make up a small percentage of posters to be honest. If you think about it this way, the YourSay community that is regularly vocal is perhaps 100 strong. The site gets over 7million individuals a month stopping by and 1000's of new sign ups a day.
As for your comment removals, I have been and looked. There is nothing unprofessional in a mod cleaning up threads. Without wanting to sound too much like an asshole, if we don't want serious issues muddied with lame puns we will remove them. That aside, we're getting to a point where there is a place for everyone to indulge in what they like, I hope.

I believe you and another member have a whole "lame pun" industry going on in some of those threads. It's all about what's appropriate. Puns about some dumb bastard hurting themselves being stupid = funny. Puns about an innocent woman being stabbed 70 time = not so cool.
I'm proud of the site on many levels. The success is not really judged by numbers (In truth it's 1000's of sign ups per day, not month, and that just means more bandwidth) for me the success is judged by what we achieve with all this outside of the stats game.

I think Mars was right, you would have made a great tagline writer for Fangoria. Damn, can you still buy that magazine? Off to google.

LOL, "lame pun industry" that's funny. PirateCopy and Steve Martin are indeed too wild and crazy guys. The problem with the lame puns is that once one of them starts it is hard not to join in on the fun...devil's advocates the both of them.
I also like whenever a sentence starts out "without trying to sound like too much of an asshole..." I should probably start giving that disclaimer before some of the things I say around the office. I usually just come out sounding like an asshole.

But at least it means you sound like an asshole without trying too much. Always a good thing :)
