In 1965 John Lennon made the notorious statement that "The Beatles are more popular than Jesus".
Just out of curiousity, what do you think?

jesus was nicer than john and could easily sing better, and had better taste in women[mary mag was fine][yoko OH NO!]. but more people remember john cos of all the cover versions.sad but probably the truest comment on this thread....probably.

The Beatles contributed a lot to the 20th century ... Jesus (directly) did nothing.
Whilst it can be proven that John Lennon existed, the existence of Jesus is open to debate.
If the Poll asked: Who was really on planet earth? The Beatles, or Jesus ... there would be a landslide win for the fab four.
If the Poll asked: who made a bigger impression on the world in the last decades of the 20th century ... same answer.
In 20 years ... the Beatles will fade away ... but Jesus, the Tooth Fairy, and Santa Claus will still be here. Why? I dunno.

Well, maybe he referred to the fans, you know? In ways, he was quite correct- even though how could he really be "certain" of that? Success and fame have ways in getting to the head; in the heights of great popularity and acclaim, individual's can pop off things without considering the consequences and reactions to others. Personally, his statement doesn't bother me...

The Beatles have sold FAR more units than that....add to that that most of those bibles are, as well you know FTV, never read....whereas the Beatle records are played AND enjoyed regularly by ALL who own them....
....You have at least one bible FTV....How many Beatle records do you have at home?.....not just yours but yo mommas or your sisters or brothers?
