Drum & Bass

Dronetek 07-24-2010 02:54 AM

As some of you know, I used to spin D&B back in the day as "DJ Stoots" and played out quite a bit to local clubs and a couple large raves. My friends and me had a crew called "No Talent Studios" (with an all DnB group that was called Black Ops) , threw small parties and were friends with all the local promoters. Its still my favorite style of music. There is something about those dark bass lines that invigorate and motivate me. I also like Dubstep for the same reason.

A few of my favorites, ranging from 1997 to 2002 (no particular order):

That's how it should be done!

And here's my contribution:

Back when I was at Uni, I made an Alesis MMT-8 emulator (a music sequencer) and as a side project, emulated the HR-16B. I'd previously made a basic VST plug in synth, so I suppose I've built D&B from scratch. I also have a Samick 3/4 Bass and a Tama drum kit .. but I suck at both.

I haven't played any music in months ... damn ... gotta do that.

Some more of my favorites.

The drop and sample on this one will give you goose bumps:

This is an EPIC track. Fun fact, I got to pick UFO! up at the airport once. Notice the samples. Also know as the "Aliens track":

An old favorite. I'd play it in practically every set.

The best track Dieselboy ever produced. This is one bad ass track:

Dieselboy's second best track ever. Equally fucking bad ass:

My favourite style of music for the last decade, and Dubstep isnt gonna change that.
DnB offers such a great variety of awesome sounds.

D&B died after 1995.
