Just great to find these old timers in such nice shape. Aussie made at Lithgow 1941.

My high school cadet unit had about 100 Lithgow .303s
We thought they were just old rifles that nobody wanted
Prolly worth a fortune now

Ive got an Indian 7.62 NATO version of that rifle.
Sweet action on it.

Looks refurbished to me, just find it hard to believe a 75 y/o rifle has basically no wear on the bluing. Either way nice rifle, I've got a 1943 No.4 and I love it. The barrel is worn to hell but it still cycles smooth and I've hit target out to 440yds with iron sights and the walnut stock on it has tons of character.

Yea, when I first picked it up, I thought this sucker has been re-stocked, but found the cartouches still intact on the right of the butt, plus the left of the receiver doesn't show an "FTR" for arsenal rebuild, amazing. Where it sat, no idea, but there's no import mark either!
I've got a coupla No4's, both Long Branch, another great old arm.

They used to have this rifle, an Owen submachine gun and the Bren Lightmachine gun for fighting the Japanese in the Pacific.

Sweet condition. Hard to find cheap surplus .303 nowadays.

I've got a No.1 MkIII complete w/sword bayonet in 80% shape. Pawn dealer gave it to me for $250. LOL Haven't shot it yet.

Decent vid by a fellow who was there:

Bet that's a heavy bitch.
But it's got a lot of character, and I bet some history behind it too!

Mind if I ask how much u paid for it?

Friend of mine is looking for an M-1, but has sticker shock over the prices!
