Sound EQ for Windows 7

I've had to make a shit load of changes to my set up today (dont ask), and as such am looking for some kind of software which will interface with my sound card providing a powerfull EQ . at least 31 bands . Thanks in advance

and before you ask, yes WMP, and win amp etc have built in EQ's. I just want an independent one for my whole system .

Not sure of your workflow?

Are you using your PC as a live instrument and need a live 31 band EQ? If so, what sound sources are you using?

Do you need EQ on specific instruments? (plug-in style?) or the whole mix?

If you're gonna mess with the entire mix ... why?

There are heaps of free/cheap VST/VSTi Eq's ... check out Uncut Plug-ins for the half decent free graphics.

Real control is from a paragraphic eq.

Yup .. a paraMETRIC EQ gives fine grained control over specific frequencies whereas a 31 band EQ (or 7/15/whatever) serves up particular frequencies to boost/filter within a manufacturer defined slope.

Totally true ... just a total pain in the arse when you're in a shitty room with a bunch of crappy feedback hotspots ... or (as I suspect Richy needs) compensating for rooted speakers.

This has nothing to do with my music production shit. Its about listening to vids on youtube etc and from my PS3, I'm using this piss poor windows EQ. I was wondering if there is something more powerful. I have Dr Dre beats headphones. They are capable of so much more, as i've found out in Reason, cubase, fl. But this sound card is so 1999
