??? What character assassination.. Simply fair game. If zimmermans past is being used to highlight negative actions in his past it seems only fair to point out that Martin had issues with authority as well. After all if he was not suspended from school would he of even been there that Night?

Thanks for all the reps and the kind comments guys. It's just sad that someone is dead when it could have been avoided.

Different jurisdictions have many many shades of culpability when it comes to being charged with homicide: negligent homicide, deliberate homicide, manslaughter, first degree, second degree, special circumstances, etc. etc. I'm not clear which one Zimmerman will be formally charged with, and whether there might be some kind of plea bargain involved. "There is many a slip 'twixt the cup and a lip" as William Bonney says in Young Guns.

Trayvon may also bear some responsibility for his death, but we'll probably never know what went on between those two in the dark...so where does that leave us?
