Four US soldiers dead in IED blast, shooting
"KABUL, Afghanistan (April 26) – Three coalition service members died following an improvised explosive device attack in eastern Afghanistan today."
"An Afghan soldier fatally shot an American service member and a local interpreter in southern Afghanistan, officials said Thursday, the latest in a string of attacks against U.S. and other foreign forces by their Afghan partners."
"Afghan policeman opens fire at checkpoint; 2 U.S. troops injured
In back-to-back blows to Western efforts to forge a crucial partnership with the Afghan police and army, a new attack by an Afghan police officer left two American troops injured, and authorities disclosed Friday that an Afghan soldier who killed an American earlier this week was a member of an elite special force."
Coalition military fatalities since the start of Operation Enduring Freedom, 2978.
Going to hit 3000 pretty soon.

Since osama got nailed most i know thought their mission was over. Soldiers are not bringers of law and order. The taliban are totally outgunned and wont fight head to head. The ieds/suicide-bombers/turncoats is a thoroughly disgusting kind of war.
That said, they are hurting themselves more than they hurt the coalition, even though they probably dont see it that way.
There are some sort of negotiations going on behind the scenes, but karzai doesnt want to share power, and he wants elections/some kind of democracy. The taliban want an islamic state of afghanistan. Whats the compromise to that?
