Look, I'm not saying that Islamic terrorists aren't vile. I am not saying that religion doesn't play the most visible role in their violence.

I am saying that terrorism is a little more complicated than the shallow way it's been defined by the neo-conservatives.

Those who commit terrorists acts are usually easily convinced, uneducated morons who can't read the Qu'ran. Those who compel them to act are usually educated, political ideologues who are seeking some kind of political gain.

It doesn't just boil down to "They hate our freedom and want to murder the West."

Muslims can't even decide on which Caliphate succeeded Mohammed; they commit infighting, violence and terrorism against each other because of this. And yet some people seem to believe that ALL Muslim terrorists are in cahoots to kill westerners, and the reason is because they ALL agree that America is too free and too Christian, and that they ALL agree that they need to destroy us to unite the world under a single Caliphate. The same people who can't even agree among themselves.

It's such a childish, stupid view of terrorism. But it comes from an emotional, pathological desire to defend America at all costs. Because these neo-conservatives will never admit that America has done some shifty, shady things that might possible be compelling terrorists too attack us. It's much more satisfying to the ego of the blind patriot to believe they are killing us solely because of their insane religion and because we are free.

The reason for is is because these neo-conservatives are often times just apologists and exceptionalists, and also because they seek to continue the very same policies which is causing the problem.

Your plea sounds desperate and cheesy. Any vote for other than the candidate on the ballot who runs against Obama is a vote for Obama.

The only vote that is wasted is the vote cast for a candidate you don't believe in. I'm voting for Ron Paul. By doing so I've met my highest responsibility as a voting citizen.

To Hell with the odds-laying, strategy generating, spin doctoring "vote for the lesser of two evils...vote for anything but the candidate who stands for you because..." crowd, along with all the rest.

What about a different party altogether?

Been here since 2007, the majority of my time is on the main site. As for your question I voted for Paul in the primaries during the last election and wrote him in during the general. His bid in 1988 I did not vote for him, this time around my original post explains it. Your comment in the end can also be answered by the original post.
