The Time Has Come For Us To Legalize Prostitution

Prostitution is legal. It's called marriage.

What two consenting adults do in the privacy of their home or seedy motel is not up to the government to decide; how on earth it's anybodies business if a man wants to "gift" a woman a for making him happy on the occasional evening or two is beyond me.

I'm pretty sure there are laws regarding the filming of sex acts for distribution. I don't think you can just put an ad in the paper asking for porn actors. I believe this is why the porn industry is centralized around that certain area of LA, I want to say Sherman Oaks, but that might not be right. At the least, it used to be that way, but with the influx of 'gonzo' porn shot in hotel rooms and buses, that's probably changed.

And I disagree with the notion that it's religion that keeps prostitution illegal.

It's women.

If we could simply go off and pay a pro to gobble our schvanz, we would be far less likely to put up with the bullshit we do to get a piece of legit poontang. Women would lose a considerable bargaining chip if the status quo changed. Amirite?

I'm not sure where you normally get your prostitutes, but most here are WOMEN, so...

I don't think that's the case though, but women who are actually against it due to being worried that their husbands / lovers will run out and pay for some poontang probably don't realize that if their sex life is that bad, the man will stray anyway. Denying other adults the right to "gift each other for pleasure" will not save her marriage!!

Excellent point and an awesome argument to knock most feminist's dicks in the dirt on this issue. I suppose they believe it's a "women's right to choose" unless that choice is relating to who they have sex with and why.

Lots of "liberals" are against legalized prostitution and the reason I'm not focusing on them is that they're not the party that constantly makes proclamations about wanting lower tax, less regulation, and to let the free market work. In other words you'd expect liberals to outlaw or heavily tax trades they don't agree with.

Although with the point you highlighted it makes both groups look like massive hypocrites. On the liberal side it's double standards on women's rights and on the conservative side it's double standards on free markets.

The way I see it, prostitutes are there for guys who want sex without a relationship. Also for guys who think they are sexually perverse in some way and they have to pay someone to do whatever they want, they might just be embarrassed to tell those who they have a relationship with and see on a daily basis. Buy paying someone, that's all the explanation they owe that person, so no awkward conversations.

Women and men both need to realize that it's their duty to make sure that their partner is satisfied sexually, no matter what. That is a very important part of commitment. Make sure, talk about it. Ask what they want you to do or what they want to do. Make sure their needs are met!! If not, they will go out and seek that satisfaction from somewhere, whether they have to pay for it or not!!

Legalize prostitution between consenting adults and focus law enforcement resources on underage prostitution, sex slave trafficking, and similar crimes with real victims.

That's what I'd call a common sense solution. Let consenting adults do what they will with their own lives and focus on preventing and busting the worst cases of exploitation with actual victims.

Yea but,.....and i'm surprised this hasn't been brought up yet(unless i missed it), when consenting adults come to terms of an intimate encounter.... it's nearly impossible to enforce TAXATION of said interaction. It's more enforceable and lucrative for 'prostitution' to remain illegal than to allow people to fuck 'for free' without Uncle Sam getting his cut.
