Over one thousand attended the funeral service today. The procession convoy to the military cemetery stretched for over a mile. The POW/MIA bikers followed the lead Humvee and hearse. As we passed through a small town en route, seeing people standing by the side of the road holding flags, and policemen holding traffic while at attention, saluting, choked me up pretty bad. Thank you to all who show such respect.

The ceremony at the cemetery was beautiful, with bagpipes and a rifle salute echoing across the peaceful fields, and taps brought tears to everyone's eyes. But watching the Brigadere General present a sharply folded flag to David's mother, on mother's day eve, hit the emotional red zone for this old Marine.




May God's peace envelope the families of all who feel the lingering pain of such sacrifices.
