I thought that at first, the media is making him sound like a total madman. But here he is in a CNBC interview making a lot of sense. He claims he's the victim of government persecution/extortion/shake downs which makes sense in some shit hole third world country. I mean, do you really think dirt poor South American governments and police forces aren't highly corrupt and an American millionaire wouldn't be a big target?

Is he extremely eccentric and could he have done this, yes. But I would it's equally likely he's being set up by the government. He thinks he'll have an "accident" or a "suicide" if he lets the police take him into some jail cell. He wants to wait it out "until they find the real killer" and the police are no longer interested in him. This, coupled with the fact they raided his house over suspicion of a meth lab earlier this year which turned out to be total bullshit, really makes me wonder if the government or someone in the government/police force doesn't have something to do with this new allegation.

I'll wait until all the facts are in before I judge.

One of the most eccentric characters I’ve profiled at CNBC, McAfee is now on the run, hiding from the Belizean police who he says, want to kill him. So what is it? Is he being set up, shaken down, the target of corrupt cops or has he gone completely off the rails?

I’ve been speaking with him all week, since the news broke that he was wanted for the questioning in the death of his next door neighbor and at no point, over the course of our 5 or 6 conversations has he sounded in the least bit delusional. He’s seemed lucid, in control, albeit scared for his personal safety. So if he isn’t crazy, what the hell is going on with John McAfee? Is he becoming Colonel Kurtz?

I asked him about the charges and he told me, "you just have to look at the source of the allegations," suggesting that the police may have a vendetta against him. I asked him where he was and he told me he's on the run, moving every four hours, fearing for his life. "This is a Central American country and if they handcuff me and take me to jail, I may not make it out alive."

Just curious, did you read all of his posts on that Bluelight forum? Methinks the dude is whacked out on bath salts. I read the entire thing, it was a total mind bender. It turns out that a lot of the bath salts come from Belize, interestingly enough. I believe in Ockham's razor, that idea that the simplest most elegant solution is the best.
