MSNBC did the same thing.. A guy was talking about the events BUT ONLY CRIED when he REFERRED to an ASSAULT RIFLE and how many time the kids were shot as if 3 is worse than 1 or whatever number 1 is bad enough for me to want to break down...

That's complete crap. First and foremost you want your President to show his humanity. The bravado works well in context of specific situations, mostly those consisting of foreign countries trying to fuck with you. But when a tragedy like this happens, an unforeseeable isolated incident that is extremely tragic, and is in no way a matter of national security....you still want your President to stand on a podium and puff out his chest? That's bollocks.

Is it really this difficult to have universal principles, or to at the very least internally acknowledge your own hypocrisy?

Also, it's one thing to break down while speaking directly to the victim's emotional family. It's quite another to shed crocodile tears while speaking to a room full of reporters.
