I looked online and it seems that you can get a full pack of Windows 8 for around $100 or so, more or less, depending who you buy from.

I'm pretty close to getting a new rig, and I'm not quite sure which direction I want to go in. I am just a consumer when it comes to OS, but I admit I like the convenience of Windows. I've never used anything else though.

I'd like my next computer to run totally 'clean', if that makes any sense.

I've actually been thinking of building one myself, but I have no idea how to fire it up once everything's installed in the cabinet. I know it's not as easy as 'put it together/turn it on'. I think I'd get more bang for my buck if I build it myself.

I would stick with windows 7 personally. 8 is good for touch and tablets, I guess, but I'm pretty sure 7 is going to be a mainstay for a while for most.

I would recomend saving the download instead of running it and drop it on a seperate partion on your drive or put it on a vitual drive.


Partition master will let you make realtime partition changes with a really simple graphic interface.\\

FYI, again from those of us who don't know anything about computers: Windows is locked to the mobo serial. Only an idiot would invest millions in something only to sale each unit with unlimited usability, thats what makes all companies, even the honest ones, evil...
