This is all an NRA plot to expose people without guns and spur them enough to load up their larders with pistols, cannons and nuclear weapons.

The mob shouldn't be the judge of who should be allowed to own a firearm or ridiculed for it. There are government agencies for that and they already have access to this list. If some people aren't happy about how these authorities do their job then have a go at them and ask for reform, publishing this list is not the way forward.

As a side note, why aren't rifles and shotguns registered like pistols and revolvers?

It's done on a state by state basis. I had to register my rifle, actually, it gets registered when you buy it. They do a background check by the FBI right there before you can purchase it.

I will agree it is easier to buy a gun than most other things. I bought my AR-15 in under 20 minutes, background check included. Of all things on the list when I was buying it, it asks me, "have you ever smoked marijuana" like that's a deciding factor

Sad part of this is because people who can afford to go out and by AR's and other "military style" guns dont use common sense and, for a pistol, a digital lock box is $50, a rifle gun lock safe holding up to 12 guns is only about $350. A fraction of the price of the guns and ammo. It might not help in some instances but then again, the investment could save lives. And if you have childeren, IMO its a MUST have item.

I had mine locked up, they left me the drilled out lock pieces on my bed, how sweet of them. Whatever their intentions were, all this did was advertise who has what. Pretty damn stupid.

I'd take an ad out in that very same paper and post the publishers personal info in it.

Ah what a crock of ish this is. I don't hardly understand the whole idea behind banning guns or high powered rifles we are kinda passed the point of reversing the gun culture here in the states even if it were feasible. Only criminals would own guns then which would only worsen the issue.

I think they should look into forcing those who buy or own high powered rifles to keep them inside locked gun safes or to purchase and keep trigger locks on them.....much better idea.

Either people will use the map to try to steal guns or they will use the map while robbing to avoid those that have guns.
Either way they now have a map.
