Financial Support

Hi guys,

On your upload page you'll notice a new item down at the bottom called "Enable financial support". Sounds intriguing, right? The financial support feature is a method whereby members and viewers can support the endeavours of other members who upload original media to LiveLeak for the site and its members.

What this ISN'T. This is not a tool for raising cash for any other purpose, we will not approve the use of financial support for anything other than original media. This is definitely non-negotiable. It also isn't a replacement for revenue sharing. We still have a way to go in order to come up with a working revenue share model and the internet is littered with dead sites who got it wrong so it's not something we really want to rush into.

The idea behind this is simply to see if the community wishes to get more involved with media creation and to see where that could go. Doubtless many won't ever "donate" and some will even go out of their way to do the whole idea down but keep in mind LL gets nothing out of this financially. No cut, no percentage, no handling fees. It's all done via Paypal between the members concerned. Original media created for the community will most likely never be a massive income generator for the site but its importance, to our mind, far outstrips any financial possibilities. The community is something we genuinely love about LL and hopefully this is just one more small tool you guys can use to work together towards strengthening it even further along with creating some awesome media.

We have quite a lot of cool stuff on the way this year along with some updates and fixes for existing features. Keep checking in to see what's next.

I told Freejay I could only think of a Go Pro as well ... beer & buggy parts to keep me going.
My crap wouldn't qualify I'm guessing , lol.......... but who knows.

Do you need to make secondary accoount then if you have submitted some not original material already?
