I saw it and I actually learned a lot, I could easily see a lot of it being an accurate way things went down back then.

Watched it the other day and it was pretty decent. I'd give it probably a 7-8 out of 10 as an overall score. Like I predicted, it was basically Inglorious Bastards with black people but it was entertaining none the less.

Pros:

Didn't care how many times they used the N word which is very un-PC.
Awesome blood/gore effects.
The storyline (until the end).
Good Acting by the whole cast.
Excellent scenery and sets.

Cons:

The end sucked! Way to Hollywood and unbelievable whereas the movie up to that point seemed at least relatively plausible.
Quentin Tarantino put himself in the movie... Again...
Was basically Inglorious Bastards with black people.
Seems a tad long. (It seems like you could tell the same story in about a hour and a half-two hours instead of three hours.)

it was long enough, love the characters and the interactions . . . yeah, Tarantino should not have put himself in here or maybe in a subtle way "a la inglorious bastards"

I disagree that it was inglorious bastards with black people . . poor analogy.

i give it an 8.9 . . .Christoph Waltz is becoming typecasted . . . love him but what else can he play?

Eh... Not in a cinematic sense, per se, but in a thematic sense. It's basically the exact same theme as Inglorious Bastards and I don't think you'd argue that if you've seen both movies anyways.

Exact same theme... An implausible take on a minority getting down on their oppressors of the time.

I really enjoy films that make me think that way. That it was most likely the "way things truly were back then". I get this from most of QT's films. At least in some aspect, or from certain scenes.

I found the opening scene (the interrogation) of Inglorious Basterds to be like this.

The overall harsh cruelty and insignificance of human life in Django rang true to me, too. I mean, this had to be true on some level when human beings are treated as property.
