Nim, been seeing reports on the protests all over the internet and MSM all day today.
Fox, PBS, and Link had reasonable in-depth reports on it.
So you see, nim.....we are watching the developments over there, just we cant do much to help, cause if we do we just give the regime more fuel for their rhetoric!

Do you know yet if anybody in your family get caught up in the violence, or arrested?

well my cousins still have bruises from July (they're all girls which is fucked up). I haven't called today. The police wait for the crowd to bunch up and then charge with batons and hit anything and anyone until the crowd gets dispersed.

And as I said, the media only catches juicy stuff. Today was big so they reported it. I think the next big event is going to be next month. But until then the media completely ignores what's going on in Iran.

Well, the media is under strict controls there too. Only official events can be covered. So that restricts their access. If you noticed, most all the vids the foreign press had was done by amateurs, local Iranians.

I do keep an eye on a couple web sites that cover the mid-east, and Iran is covered in them alot. But you know how the MSM is, gotta have DRAMA for it to make it on air!

If the US gov has any wisdom or common sense left in the planning room it will do the right thing and stay out of the issue. It is fun to be naive and fantasize about Captain America helping the poor Iranians from Hitler #4, but it is American interference that directly led to the present Iranian government to reaching power in the first place. If we interfere again, in the long run we will give birth to more instability and a worse government will take power.

CNN so far has been great. They have the most knowledgeable people on their shows and their people aren't the same racist neocons and conservatives you see on other news channels.
