![]() I got an old Ryobie too about the same age, but it's bats are dead, won't even last long even to put in a few 2 inch screws. EDIT: To be fair, I usually only drive those tapcons in with a corded, 1/2 drive, electric impact gun or shoot them with the hilti these days, but I have used it in the past for that, before I had that impact wrench or the hilti. Hahaha, I was editing it while you posted.
Yeah, the impact gun or the hammer drill or the hilti is the only way to go when time is money, but that drill would be fine for the above average home owner, those do it themselves types that like to do it right the first time. Last edited by dad61; 11-19-2013 at 02:14 PM. |

Also bear in mind your warranty. The Makita batts have a memory built in. Too many cylces (which Makita will check in the case of a warranty claim) and the warranty may not be honoured as it then comes under wear and tear. The batteries are also date marked on the casing.

How do you shoot a Tapcon with a Hilti?

You don't, I was just saying that I'll just shoot what ever I'm attaching to concrete with the hilti in instead of drilling and screwing, depends on how close to an edge it is, shit like that because using a hilti close to an edge will just break it off, in that case I would carefully use a tapcon.
The hilti takes seconds, especially the auto load ones ![]() |
