4 Years!

I can't believe it's pretty much four years since we started the site. Chances are we can shoot the shit about it all in chat tomorrow but it still amazes me, hell all of us, at what the site turned into.

We never expected the site to get as big as it has or that I would one day sit down in person with some of the members. So much crazy stuff has happened since we opened I'm not going to start posting lists but I can say on behalf of myself and the team that we are humbled by the fact you guys keep coming back, day after day. Without you (even those of you who make a virtual career of being grouches and doom sayers ) none of this would have been possible.

We've seen new life come into the world as an indirect result of having a chat room, we've seen members married, and we have also seen members pass away. All of this shows that a community grew here in a place which so many claimed was infertile for such growth because the ground was too stony,

I guess all I want to say, until I have to go say something similar to all those over on the main site, is thank you. Thank you for being a part of something that has kept me entertained and sometimes educated and also helped make my life just a little more...well...interesting over the last four years.

Thank you, in return, for giving all us LL junkies this great place to interact and meet people from all around the world, every walk in life and, for the most part, find that we have more in common than not (a few... not so much LOL).

It has been great, and I look forward to many more years of participating in this site, dare I say, a lifetime... I have a visual (yes, I know it is the internet) of all of us getting pretty old and feeble but still sitting at the laptops or attending the occasional meetup. Hey... maybe you could add that to the LL items for purchase: stuff for old LL geezers - like those long grabby things to help us pick stuff up....

Glad to be a part of it. I dont think i've been a member of a community as long as i have this one. Met & befreinded some people here from all walks of life, people that keep bringing me back day in day out.

Yeah, great site. The outstanding thing about LL is none of us have a particular reason to be here. It's not like a specialised website like diving, sailing, climbing, cars or pencil sharpeners are.

We hang about here because we want to!
