Personally, I wouldn't do anything like that. With my luck it would go from a tiny scratch, to a large cloudy area.

Maybe you should call a repair guy? They might give you an answer over the phone for free. Ya never know.

Actually, lemme put out my feelers and see if my 'puter gurus have any words of wisdom.

If the screen has a hard cover, you could use a very mild abrasive like regular tooth paste.
Or a repair kit for scratched cds/dvds anything which is mild enough to be minimally abrasive. Never used pasteboard before though. since its dry I'm sort of leery of it.

Okay, I gotta ask....

One- why didn't you have the laptop closed when you were moving it? urr duhr!

Two- either you have a giant laptop, tiny doorways, or you need to learn how to navigate the rough seas of your house better. lol

Toothpaste works great for getting water rings off of wooden tables. Only the paste kind though. Gel doesn't seem to cut it. I keep a $0.59 tube of Pepsodent in amongst my cleaning supplies for that very reason.

I would try the Pepsodent before I would try the cardboard to be honest. A tiny dab is all it would take, and a rinse with water.

It will, however, be more docile and more easily controlled.
