Default Making a microphone sound better on a laptop?

Well here I am again heh, yahoo answers doesn't have the help I need so here it is.I have an aspire 7736z and I am trying to record video but the mic is really fuzzy..Ive tried it all.dead quiet around me(fans off,tv etc)Played around with the recording level and it still has a really fuzzy background noise. Is it just this particular model?Anything else that can be done?Im running windows 7 premium, dunno if that helps any.Is that just how it is for laptops and I need to buy an external mic?are there such things as programs that help this out?God I suck..I know.thanks

Those built in mics are shit, not to mention that it sounds like it has a ground problem....external mic is the answer.

Grab a copy of Audacity or some other audio editing software, record something, but make sure you leave about 10 seconds of silence (fuzzy noisy silence) at the end of your recording.

Open up the file in Audacity, select the white noise and crap at the end, then choose the "Noise Removal" audio plug-in (installed by default).

It does a pretty good job of everything except clipping, which I suspect is your main problem. The only way to fix that is move the microphone further away from the sound source, or spend $4 on a cheap external mic.

You can also piss-fart about with the EQ and compressor, noise gate, and speech processors. You can cover up a lot of artifacts.

Audacity is awesome, it's the only sound editor I use.

Just a shot, try taping a piece of foam or filter material over the Mic hole.
You mat want to experiment some using different materials and you might have to use the Mic boost feature as well if there is one.

The idea was to cover the mic with a filter to reduce the effects of audio gain.
Foam material works best but good software is a must as well.
I'm sure there is freeware out there if yours is outdated.
I decent mic will work well but I recommend you spend some money on a good one if you plan to do this much.
Also your on board sound card may just not be suitable, I would recommend a USB sound card.

If its just a one shot thing then robot farts it is I guess.
Cotton eh? wished I could have seen that.

ADDED: Laptops are crap for audio, here are a couple of ideas I think you would like.
Its budget but far better than a laptop config.
