About the same percent (1%) of all abortion in the USA are because of rape. Most are convenience abortions. Abortion has become the new birth control, why prevent when you can erase your mistakes.

Surely you can't be serious, you think people would rather spend hundreds of dollars on an abortion than just use birth control? You really think that's the attitude? Please.

Yes, considering 99% of people that get abortions were not raped. That means 99% of aborted pregnancies were consensual. Many humans take stupid risks, especially when they know they have a out.

You won't stop convenience abortions or abortions used as birth control by making them illegal. As a matter of fact abortion rates are higher in countries in which abortion is illegal or countries which have more restrictive laws in regards to abortion which of course also tend to be highly religious countries and adverse to contraception.
So you'll most likely have a similar rate whether it's legal or illegal, the main difference being having safe or unsafe abortions which will put the mother's life at risk.

The only way to reduce the rate of convenience abortions is the same way you reduce unwanted pregnancies and that is through education. And that's what will make a difference and that's where people and legislation should concentrate its efforts on.
Funnily enough most pro-life supporters are also against education specially when it comes to sexual education in schools.

And another thing, showing pictures of dead fetuses or mentally torturing and bullying women which are about to have an abortion doesn't equal education.

And most are abortions take place within the first 8 weeks of pregnancy.

The US is not highly religious and not adverse to contraception, women also are not property here so they have right to who they marry and when they have sex. So I don't think those statistics have can properly predict what effect it would have.
