I don't believe so. But given they made the big Healeys, I guess it could be possible.

Did you visit the Jenson site, they have a modern version of the old interceptor, you might find some updated parts that might make life a little easier or even faster.

Pulled the motor and transmission last weekend and got oil all over my garage floor (despite having drained everything first, lol.) I don't know where all those extra quarts of oil and anti-freeze came from, but we are dealing with a giant v8 after all. Would have done it in the driveway, but I live in one of those fancier neighborhoods now and don't want to risk drawing the wrong kind of attention.
Today, I stripped the engine down. I'm not the first and foremost expert on examining bearings, but I was kinda surprised how 'groovy' they looked for a motor with good oil pressure and only 62k. It's ok because the crank, rods and pistons (and bearings, of course) will all be new.
It's going to be a 505ci stroker Parts already ordered and just waiting on the crank. Block goes to the machine shop Monday.
I'll try to get some photos of my oily garage floor and disassembled engine tomorrow. This was absolutely the grimiest motor I've ever dealt with!

Oh yeah...Love it...I have a 1973 Charger SE with the 440...Mine is mostly stock...I don't care for that rough cammed out motor feel...I like mine to be smooth at an idle...You can still get 400hp easily out of them with just heads and induction...If you're building a 440 stroker you're putting some serious money into that old guy...

Cool...

The promised photos. I know these aren't the most exciting photos ever uploaded to LL, lol!
Notice the Range Rover serving as a pickup truck! Hey, it works (well, the tape being used to hold up the headliner sure isn't. That's what the hot, Florida sun does to headliners)...

I'm the same way. I am definitely not into 'thumping' engines. If you do it right, a street car can make plenty of power with at most maybe a very lightly noticeable rumble. This car is meant to be mostly 'civilized' (it was a luxury GT in it's day) and it needs to make decent vacuum at 650rpm in Drive.
These are also very heavy cars (4000lbs) with highway gearing (it's got a 2.88 rear gear) and so the stroker will help with that while not having to cam it too much.
This motor was also a low compression version (7.75 by my measurements) so I really needed to get new pistons to get the CR up, and well, one thing leads to another. New pistons means new rods, which also means total disassembly and balancing and machine work. Now you've got a bunch of labor and new parts...the crank is just one more. It's the difference between $4k and $4.7k, so what the heck...go stroker!

I used to have an '88 Range Rover (the classic model), and I think that would outperform the Lada in every category. But to each their own
Escept, to be perfectly honest, it was breaking down every other month for some reason or another (all easily fixed, but break downs nonetheless)...so I just had to get rid of it to save my sanity.
