Wish I had the equivalent of my grandfather from the army aircore, but you brits robbed him blind after he got shot down and crashed his B24 into the English Channel. He said they unashamedly stole everything from him including his flight jacket while he was lying in a stretcher.

Well I plan to pass on something to make it a heirloom knife. They put a little spyderco folder in our vest, but a proper survival knife is fixed.

True and you can get some pretty unique handles as well for a fraction of the cost of other knife makers. I'll nab one at some point, along with a machete of some time from there. Too bad just about every friggen island out there has a different style of machete.

Most of my stuff is cheap

Some Schrade old timers and Gerbers are probably the most expensive

Have a drawer full of broken stuff because, I tend to break them doing stupid shit, like trying to chisle plasma splatter chunks off metal castings and pry open plaster mold caseings.

I don't deserve nice things.

Reading an author, that mentioned Marc Lee, the 1st Seal to die in Iraq.
hooyah
BenchMade issued a SOCOM fixed blade to commemorate him.
No longer made, but the site is impressive.

http://www.benchmade.com/

Thing is, I can't afford their prices! $350! Damn!

My knives, a Case XX, that I've had for decades. Damn I'm old!
2 Bucks, a 4" auto, a 3" ranger. and an old Ka-Bar that needs work.
A few small folding knives, Barlow and Case, and 2 Swiss Army knives.
There's a few other small knives in the toolboxes in the basement, not to mention the specialty and utility blades used for work and hobby.

Well if you want a knife that can handle all of that and not break, check out Winkler knives. They’re something pretty special. He supplies JSOC with a lot of their blades and his axes are legendary among Team 6.

Here’s my Winkler belt knife and combat axe. Craftsmanship is just unparalleled and his sheaths are in my opinion the best on the market. This is essentially what I carry on my belt out camping.

Edit: he’s famous for making the axes in the movie The Last of the Mohicans, a SEAL was so impressed by the axes in the movie (lol) he tracked him down and they issue them to various tier 1 units now.

Awesome, now that I’m a knife nut I’d give anything to have the original Swiss Army knife and buck I owned as a kid. No idea what happened to them...

What hobby do you use them for just out of curiosity?

Here’s the rest of my collection beyond the two posts above.

First picture is my Fallkniven Tor bowie: its laminated stainless steel and is wicked sharp. I've abused it in the South western desert on camping trips and I can tell you it chops as well as a knife possibly can. I've carried it instead of the belt knife/axe combo before on camping trips. Sheath is a real piece of shit though.

The kukri is from Himalayan imports, its supposedly unbreakable and from what I've seen is most likely true, but if anyone wants the best kukri around buy one off of Tora blades. They make hands down the nicest hand made kukri you can buy for about $100 bucks. Takes months to get one, but totally worth it. I gave one to my dad and its an outstanding blade.

My four folders:
Emerson ETAK-B - self defense folder, these blades were made famous by the SEALs

Chris Reeve Star-Tac - my work knife, also my most expensive knife..

Coldsteel Recon - boat knife, sturdy blade but not so expensive I'd cringe to lose it.

Protech Automatic - company makes great automatic blades

My Finnish blades: Finland puts a heavy weight on their knives in their culture. The smaller knife is a puukko a belt knife. The one on the bottom I use routinely for wood carving, the Scandi grind on these knives make them the sharpest in the world and easy to keep that way. The larger Leuku is for camping and wood chopping. Excellent knives and another example of knives that you can get very cheap handmade straight from Finland.

The last two daggers:

The AG Russell sting boot knife on top.

And the famous Fairbairn Sykes commando knife on the bottom.
