The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), previously known as Next Generation Space Telescope (NGST), is a part of NASA's ongoing Flagship program. It is under construction and scheduled to launch in October 2018. JWST's capabilities will enable a broad range of investigations across the fields of astronomy and cosmology.[5] One particular goal involves observing some of the most distant events and objects in the Universe, such as the formation of the first galaxies. These types of targets are beyond the reach of current ground and space-based instruments. Another goal is understanding the formation of stars and planets. This will include direct imaging of exoplanets.

James Webb Telescope. Think 'Hubble' X's 100. Capable of seeing light from the beginning of our very universe and answering some of the questions mankind has wondered for centuries. I sometimes wonder if folks realize how big this is. It's fucking HUGE man! wtf is wrong with you people.

Think about the direct images of many exoplanets and other solar systems. The first light from the very first galaxies after the big bang, and in unprecedented detail that will make Hubble look like an amateur.

This is a bad ass little piece of technology and i have been waiting for this bastard to launch forever. Launch day is gonna be tense as fuck. If NASA blows this thing up during launch, i'm unfriending them from FB, YT, Twitter, and they'll NEVER get another like from me for the rest of time. I will fucking boycott them and add Russia's space agency to my feed.

What good is it to see the beginning of the universe, most people arent even happy being at the active edge of the universe?
