Look it up at Gigabyte and compare .. I see it doesn't have USB3, may want to consider your case if you take it.
No point in having extra cables hanging.
Its an A series so the video is on board and a 6670 AMD video card is the limit if you want to run cross fire.
Its for an FM2 so you may want to stick with that as the power requirement for the FM2 + vary and most likely will also be limited.
No SATA 6.0 just 3.0

I would say pay a few extra dollars to make it go farther but if all you plan to do is browse and apps it will do just fine.

ADDED: always look the board up and look for the CPU and memory compatibility list for it.
All manufacturer site have them but you may have to poke around as some are listed differently than others.
Most are under the support heading on the mainboard page in question.

Well so far i am not doing a very good job at going by the list. I have ordered a case and motherboard.
Case,,,Tiveco Steel ATX Mid Tower Case 605BG, 4x 5.25in Bays, w/ 400W Power Supply

Motherboard,,,ASUS P8P67 LGA 1155 INTEL P67 SATA DDR3 ATX INTEL GENUINE DESKTOP MOTHERBOARD US

I only have so much money to spend and i wanted to get at least the case and motherboard so the above is all i could afford this week. If i could get my wife to stop spending all my money on food and bill's i could afford a new pc.hahaha
And in the end anything i manage to put together has to be better then this 7+ year old dell 2400.
Thanks again TinBuk3 for taking time to share your knowledge and experience with me and answer my at times seemingly pointless questions. I am learning as i go and you have been a Great help.
Thanks again and have a great weekend.,,Rob.

Small problem there, the main board has 7 slots the case only 4 .. it wont fit.
Going Intel is fine and the board looks good to go however check to see what revision it is.
Anything under rev 3.0 will have limited function.
Those boards are OEM and are mass produced for manufactures such as dell etc and most likely wont be covered under warranty for more than 30 days after purchase.

If your going to do this part at a time then start with the main board and get it retail and stay away from Ebay/Amazon etc.
All they do is push the crap nobody with any PC sense wants.

If you want to go with a full 7 slot Intel board with a reasonable price may I recommend.

I'll be darn. I'm not off to a very good start am i? hahaha But it looks like i'm taking the "learn by mistake" road. But as luck will have it i found an extra $50 yesterday so i thought i would just order another case today with 7 slots and just put the 4 slot case away for another time.
The case i found that i like and has 7 slots is ,

I got my finger's crossed that it will work with the motherboard i have already ordered.
Motherboard,,,ASUS P8P67 LGA

I did some searching and comparing last night and from what i could find the motherboard should fit this case. I did find a number of websites that has the info i need to determine whats compatible with my motherboard so i should be able to find my parts on my own and stop bothering you TinBuk3.
Thanks and have a nice day..,Rob.

It will fit.
Power supply mount looks like it fits in one direction only so you may have to go with one of theirs.
They recommend their 500 series with the case.
As long as you are running a low power system heat shouldn't be an issue.

The free motherboard you had, even though it's crappy AMD/ATI, supported FM2 quad cores with decent APU/iGPU, the fastest DDR3 to date, 7.1 audio, gigabit ethernet, and SATA-300 HDD. Not sure why USB 3.0 and +5MBps on SATA-600 and extra slots matter, especially if you're scrounging for $50..

The path you're going down now is one where you 'get behind' financially and are left with something that has about the same performance-life(time till software becomes too intensive for the hardware). It will also use more electricity and see bigger losses on a resale..

Even embedded CPUs with iGPU have things like SSE4 that are used by flash player and software video codecs. The rest is dependent on internet speed. You're paying many times more for nothing more since you aren't doing 'next-gen' gaming..

By the way you're listening to a guy with a troll for an avatar and 'Obamastan' as their location; which means they are probably a kid or some loser.. The logic and economics of what they're telling you to do are retarded.. I could beat their newegg deals using ebay and google shopping in a matter of minutes on better hardware also.. I'd probably go with ITX with exchangable cooler since you don't do gaming too..

Thats all very interesting but i could not care less about electricity cost and the odd's of me ever selling it is Zero. At the moment i am using an old dell i bought back in 05 i think it was and a few fans and about as many hard drives i believe it's on it's last leg ,,,again. So i am almost certain anything i manage to put together and get to work will be a step up. oh and as for the "scrounging for $50". I'm happy to say that was a failed attempt at being funny.
With all that being said i appreciate your concern and as for me "listening to a guy with a troll for an avatar". I asked for any info anyone would kind enough to share and he not only shared his thoughts on the subject but went as far as to compile a list of parts with links. Now if i was just going by what he has shared with me i do not doubt those parts together would make a very nice computer. But thats not the case. I have been reading reviews and doing my best to educate myself on this project and for every one thing i learn only leaves me with more questions. hahaha
Thanks again and have a nice evening..,Rob.

100 watt CPU will run hot during intensive video, you may want to consider running two 120 mm silent case fans and loseing the 80.

Thanks TinBuk3 i'll keep that in mind. I remember seeing in one of the video reviews on my board (should be here by Thursday 8th) that it has 3 or 4 fan connections and the fan speeds can be adjusted.
Thanks again and have a nice evening..,Rob.
