The creed of the individual and the rights prescribed to him is a very western notion, the muslum or more correctly the Arab world has never been so inclined.
Religion conforms to the attitudes of the population that hosts it.
Indonesia the largest muslum country in terms of population is a vastly different society than their Arab counterparts.

Well religion directs culture as much as culture directs religion. It's six of one and half dozen of the other. Islam though, over a period of time, is much more voracious at asserting itself and wiping out anything that came before Islam.

no argument with that.
My point is that Christianity evolved in the way it did not as some natural cycle that islam will follow, but because the people who practiced it had a fundamentally different world view.

oh, that I agree with. Christianity, although started with Jews, was really taken over by Romans and Greeks fairly early on. Romans and Greeks had familiarity with large complex governing systems, a type of democracy/republic and a more nuanced view of the world. Islam came about as a sort of weird offshoot of Nestorian Christianity and celestial pagan worship practices. The Quaraish were not an advanced people for their time at all.

Islam starts with submission and conquest. Christianity starts with a sort of apolitical charity/cooperation, even borderline commune type living.

Those two factors, what sort of people gave rise to the religion and what the first notions of those religions were, influenced the people and the cultures down a path that was very different and opposed. Being that both have a conversion mandate, Islam and Christianity can't help but constantly come into conflict with each other.

Furthermore, we're not friends because the first time you disagreed with me, you pulled my ethnicity into it and made it personal, because you know exactly one personal fact about me. This thread has nothing to do with American Indians and the "white man". NOTHING! I am not friends with people who think it's a good tactic to pose arguments to me based on my ethnicity and then get to race shame me for disagreeing with them. I am so beyond that game.
I do go to church. I am a Christian. I was amply happy to have merely amused you with my last reply.

The crusades, and indeed much of the inquisition, were motivated by man's lusts, much like the motivations of this horde of extremist Islamists.

With this latest horde, it's a warped. twisted god-agenda. Not too far removed from the early Christian's motivations.

I apologize at touching a hot string with regards to my bringing up the white man's desecration of Native North American People's homeland, and your past comments regarding that, reflecting on your opinion of nearly 2 thousand years past Christian foul play, relating to present day Islamist near perfect copy thereof regarding mischief.

I am sincere in that apology.

I was/am hurt at losing you as a friend here.

I got your rep point. I had already made up my mind about being your friend before I even read this post earlier today.

The answer is yes, we should be friends.

I took what you wrote too personally and I don't think you meant it that way. I just think it hit me the wrong way and I over reacted to it and kicked you off my friends list which was impulsive of me.

Of course I want you as a friend.

Aquina, I am elated at your reconsideration.

I assure you I meant no personal attack with regards to the post you found offensive.

TYVM for this.
