I'm sorry, Lipskip. It's tough to lose a well-loved pet. Just want to say, tho, don't feel guilty about thinking of getting another dog. The new one won't replace Art. Each dog has its own unique personality, and it might help make Art's death a little easier to take, too.

The best part about that is, you can have a different one each time.

Take some time to adjust to being by yourself before you get another pet. That way, it's all new for both of you.
Yeah. He was the man.

Being the dog of leisure that he was, I doubt I'd have wanted to pull off any heists with him. lol I couldn't even get him to fetch, much less run from the po-po. They'd have nabbed him, and he'd have sang like a canary for some Milk Bones. He'd have been like, "I wuvs ya man.... but they had Milk Bones. You know how much I like Milk Bones. This won't come between us will it?"

I'll be alright. Thanks for the kind words.

Your new avatar is horrible by the way.

The breeder I want to go to charges between $2000 and $3000 dollars for a Rottweiler of his caliber. It'll be a while before I can save the money up. That'll be a nice adjustment period like Bolo said. And, he'll be 8 weeks old, so it'll be totally unlike Art, because I got him when he was about one year old off of the street.

Thanks for the support Nic. You're a nice lady.

Ah, man, lip! That's rough...and such a good looking dog!

Give yourself a few weeks, maybe a month, then get another one.
And even think of naming him after Art, not the same name but something similar.
With me, that seems to help.....

You can see a little of what I'm talking about in that pic, but in total honesty, it doesn't do him justice. He was an intimidating dude, but the biggest powder puff you'd ever meet. He was everybody's friend. Dog didn't have a mean bone in his body. I think he'd have defended me if he'd have had to, but he was the best temperament I could have asked for.

Thanks man.

No worries man, I love my dog like he's my kid and first thing everyone says when they enter my house is "where is your kid" because he's got to massive boxes of toys because I love seeing him excited and he gets crazy excited each time I bring in a bag from the grocery store or anywhere else because he knows there is a toy in there for him.......I can sit the bags down and he noses it out before I can even give it to him lol.

I know how I would feel losing him with him being my only roomie in the way art was with you and I've only owned him around five yrs you had Art much longer, aye? Yeah you can tell Art was a massive animal, most of those pics look pretty recent and animals skin loses elasticity in the same way humans do so his muscles just weren't as defined in the same way a old bodybuilder would be.....think Sly Stalone.....although I don't think Art was shooting HGH and every other kind of roid into his little paw ha.

Keep your head up homey!

Yeah I was not just trying to make Lip feel better when I said that also.....Art was a good looking dog, like a kind old soul. I think animals understand much more than we are aware of, and having worked at the humane society I swear I could feel those dogs getting really tense the closer it came to time to put them down......and is why I had to stop working there more than any other reason. That shit was rough on me spending so much time with an animal feeding walking and playing with them knowing in the back of your mind if someone did not come in to adopt them they would get put down, shit was really hard on me.

I get it it's part of life and all that bullshit and I don't care if anyone here thinks I'm some kind of pussy for feeling that way but I doubt it would be something you would tell me eye to eye, not trying to sound like a bad ass but certain things affect me in certain ways and animals their treatment and their lives is just one of those things that could push me over the edge and cause me to do violent things, again not trying to act tough just stating the facts....honestly.

Its part of loving them and caring for them and giving them a good life, to help them go when its time, included. Sincere condolences Lip.

Truly sorry for your loss Lipskip and so glad you had each other. We know how gut wrenching it is to make that decision and see it through. The hardest, kindest thing to do for a true friend. RIP Art
