Maybe she was unaware, maybe she wasn't, it doesn't matter. What does matter is that someone close to the White House pencil whipped it. Someone knows who did it and that someone knows why. Fingers are being pointed at several different agencies and those agencies are all pointing fingers at each other. Someone is lying through their freakin teeth.

You said it...the state dept.
Funny though the CIA had 3 operatives in the building with one government officle. The CIA had a operations compound close by. And the security to protect these people was OUTSOURCED to security teams there. The state dept. does not direct the CIA.

CIA is the US government.. Dont know what planet you live on but the feds run the cia and the CIA does not run Embassy security. And again I guess you know more than the people on the ground asking for more security

Being a member of the military, I support whoever is elected. What I don't support is failing to honor the men who died by telling lies about some damn movie that had nothing to do with it. Attacks were happening well before the movie. They requested more security and it was denied. The head of security even stated that how thin does the ice have to get before we fall through. They were begging, begging for help. Why were they denied help? Nobody has an answer. Why were the talking point changed? Again, nobody knows. If you don't want these questions answered then go tell the families of those killed it's not important. Go tell a grieving mother of a Soldier it's not important. Then go shoot yourself in the head.

Relax tiger, that's what the inquiry is trying to do. If it weren't important, there wouldn't be any.

That to be is the key issue.. Why were they denied more security despite the rapidly deterioting situation and previous attacks..

Again I go back to the 911 commission the whole point is to prevent Breakdown of communication between agencies etc so this stuff doesnt happen. It was A Failure plain and simple to ignore those security requests. To me that was more telling that rice made the statement There was Adequate security.. On the 911 anniversary at that in benghazi LIBYA of all places. Mccain is willing to hear out Rice however I think rice is just a mouthpiece that was told to say these things obviously. Its hard to come to any other conclusion since the hearing found out what they knew from day 1.


Documents Back Up Claims of Requests for Greater Security in Benghazi

The documents contain previously unreleased cables from Ambassador Stevens and his staff reflecting concerns about safety in the country.

The U.S. State Department did not have an immediate comment.

One signed by Stevens and titled “LIBYA’S FRAGILE SECURITY DETERIORIATES AS TRIBAL RIVALRIES, POWER PLAYS AND EXTREMISM INTENSIFY,” dated June 25, 2012, assess the increase in violence. ”From April to June, Libya also witnesses an increase in attacks targeting international organizations and foreign interests,” Stevens wrote, describing attacks on a United Nations official in Benghazi, International Committee for the Red Cross buildings in Benghazi and Misrata, and IED at the mission in Benghazi, and RPG fired at the British Ambassador’s convoy, and an attack on the consulate of Tunisia.
